The cell culture medium of Kawsar Biotech Company is generally a suitable source of energy and nutrients that leads to the growth of many human cells and cell lines and regulates the cell cycle. Common components of the culture medium usually consist of amino acids, vitamins, minerals, glucose, and serum.
There are different types of cell culture media that depend on the type of cell, and each of the Stem Cells, Primary Cells, and Cell Lines, whether adherent or suspended, usually require different types of culture media, either normal or containing more nutrients for optimal growth.
DMEM/F12 is a 1:1 blend of DMEM and F-12 medium, which is a highly adaptable medium supporting the growth of many mammalian cells. This medium is enriched with high glucose, amino acids, and vitamins from DMEM, while F-12 provides a variety of components, making it suitable for a broad spectrum of cells including MDCK, glial cells, fibroblasts, human endothelial cells, and rat fibroblasts. Usually, this medium is supplemented with 10% Fetal Bovine Serum (FBS) due to the lack of proteins, lipids, or growth factors, and it employs a sodium bicarbonate buffer system, requiring a 5–10% CO2 environment to maintain physiological pH.
This medium is stored at 2-8 degrees Celsius. DMEM/F12 is crucial for research applications, supporting the growth of primary fibroblasts, neurons, glial cells, HUVECs, and smooth muscle cells.
