™PowerLoad
Cat. No: KBC-450201PowerLoad™ is a mixture of a loading buffer and fluorescent dye utilized for the visualization of DNA in gels following gel electrophoresis. This stain is formulated to be a less hazardous alternative to ethidium bromide (EtBr) utilized in the staining and detection of nucleic acids in agarose gels and is compatible with the standard settings for UV Transilluminator and GelDoc systems.
Although PowerLoad™ has similar fluorescent properties and thus UV sensitivity to ethidium bromide, it is safe, non-mutagenic and non-toxic compared to ethidium bromide and other similar products.
This product is placed into the wells of the electrophoresis gel with the PCR products, aiding the loading process, and by binding to double-stranded DNA molecules, allows for fragment size to be determined.
