MC6™ v2 Matrix Calibration
KBC MC6 v2 Standard Matrix – Professional 6-Color Spectral Calibration for Genetic Analyzers
Spectral calibration is one of the most crucial steps in setting up and correctly using multi-color genetic analyzers. Instruments such as the Compact Spectrum CE System from Promega, the Applied Biosystems™ 3500/3500xl series, and the SeqStudio Genetic Analyzer can accurately detect fluorescence signals only when their spectral matrix has been properly calibrated.
The KBC MC6 v2 Standard Matrix, developed by Kosar Biotechnology Company, is designed specifically for this purpose. It enables precise spectral calibration in 6-color KBC systems.
What is KBC MC6 v2?
This matrix contains six labeled DNA fragments, each tagged with one of the following fluorescent dyes:
- KBC460B
- KBC420G
- KBC380Y
- KBC340R
- KBC500P
- KBC260O
This set is engineered so that after performing spectral calibration, the instrument software can accurately calculate spectral overlap between dyes and reconstruct the signal of each color independently. The result is highly accurate peak separation in fragment analysis and improved overall data quality.
Product Compatibility
The KBC MC6 v2 Standard Matrix is designed for KBC products that require 6-color detection, such as IRFiling Globe, and is compatible with the following systems:
- Compact Spectrum CE System – Promega
- Applied Biosystems™ 3500 / 3500xl
- SeqStudio Genetic Analyzer (Data Collection v3.0)
This wide compatibility makes KBC MC6 v2 an excellent choice for laboratories that operate multiple instrument platforms.
When Should a New Matrix Be Run?
Spectral calibration is mandatory for every instrument and must be repeated under the following conditions:
- After replacing or re-aligning the laser or CCD camera
- After changing the capillary array or polymer type
- After relocating the instrument
- When pull-up or pull-down peaks are observed
- When spectral resolution or data quality decreases
Each laboratory should define its own schedule for running spectral calibration based on its workflow and device usage.
Applications
This matrix is supplied with KBC Multiplex PCR kits, and it is also available for purchase separately.
Storage Conditions
- Storage temperature: 2–8 °C
- Light-sensitive; store in amber tubes
- May be stored in the Post-PCR refrigerator
