The KBC DNA Banking Card (DBC™ Card) is a chemically treated filter paper, designed to store blood samples for the future use of its DNA. Applying blood samples to the DBC™ Card allows for the inactivation of the pathogens and the entrapment of the DNA within the card’s matrix, resulting in high quality, preserved DNA that can be accessed swiftly and easily.
This card is suitable for the long-term storage and safe transport of blood samples at room temperature and does not require freezing for the samples to remain stable.
To utilize the preserved DNA, punch a hole in the card using a micropunch to extract a disked sized portion. DNA preserved on DBC™ Cards can be employed for DNA archiving, DNA analysis and various other diagnostic and clinical applications, including PCR, STR, HLA typing, fertility treatments, genetic identification, etc.
