The DBC™ Blue Card is a chemically treated filter paper, designed to store biological fluid samples for the future use of its DNA. This card has similar properties to that of the KBC DBC™ Card, barring that the color of the card allows for colorless samples, such as chorionic villi, amniotic fluid, saliva, or any other type of biological fluid samples, to become visible when applied to the card’s surface.
The DBC™ Blue Card is suitable for the long-term storage and safe transport of biological fluid samples at room temperature and does not require freezing for the samples to remain stable.
DNA preserved on DBC™ Cards can be employed directly for DNA archiving, DNA analysis and various other diagnostic and clinical applications, including PCR, STR, HLA typing, fertility treatments, genetic identification, etc.
