HapScreen™ Description Kit

Kawsar Biotech Company has developed more than 60 diagnostic STR based kits for linkage analysis for various diseases. The main components of KBC kits include premixed primers of flanking a given gene and another component for a high-quality multiplex fluorescent PCR. High-quality procedures to accurately discriminate between affected and unaffected fetuses. Combinatory procedures increase the rate of accurate and reliable detection and decrease misdiagnosis which may have distasteful consequences.

Results obtained from a pedigree can be used to generate haplotypes for linkage analysis, homozygosity, and autozygosity mapping or increase detection accuracy in any PND and carrier detection. These kits have many other advantages over our haplotyping kits. Each kit also contains several STR markers for Chr 21, 18, 13, X and Y in prenatal diagnosis they can be used to rule out maternal cell contamination, sample mixed-up, paternity testing, sex typing as well as primary QF-PCR   analysis of the fetal sample.

AneuQuick™ kit (IVD)

For rapid Detection of Numerical Aneuploidies of Chromosomes 21, 18, 13, X and Y

QF-PCR

QF-PCR has been shown to be a reliable alternative for karyotyping for the detection of chromosomal aneuploidies. DNA extracted from various sources such as amniotic fluid, chorionic villus, and blood samples can be used as a genomic material in this method. In a multiplex assay, several specific STR markers for several chromosomes are amplified which their peaks (numbers or heights) represent copy number of studied chromosomes in a quantitative or qualitative manner.

AneuQuick™

KBC AneuQuick™ is a novel kit which has been prepared in accordance with allele frequencies in different populations. This kit consists of 25 STR markers which have a wide range of heterozygosity and cover the entire length of each of Chr 21, 18, 13 and their critical regions plus sex chromosomes.

Simultaneous analysis of these 25 loci circumvent the use of extra kits or markers.

 IRFiling™ Kit: DNA typing for human profiling and identification



In modern forensics, scientists use13 to 24 short tandem repeats (STRs) markers for forensic investigations, paternity indexing, etc. To create unique DNA profiles for different purposes. Our new human profiling kit with 17 loci, provides fast and accurate profile which is compatible with Iranian gene pool.
DNA extracted from biologic samples can be used as the genomic material in this method. In a multiplex assay specific STR markers are amplified and results are examined via capillary electrophoresis such as ABI 3500 Genetic analyzer. 




The KBC IRFiling STR Kit considers 16 markers used in AmpFlSTR Identifiler kit (Life Technologies, ABI, USA) namely D8S1179, D21S11, D7S820, CSF1PO, D3S1358, TH01, D13S317, D16S539, D2S1338, D19S433, VWA, TPOX, D18S51, Amelogenin, D5S818, FGA. In addition SE33 STR marker which has been shown to have high heterozygosity in Iranian population. This locus is used in NGM Select and GlobalFiler kits. New primers sets have been designed and labeled with fluorescent dyes to be optimized for multiplex PCR. Size and fluorescent dye of all markers were designed to be completely different to aid international marketing.
To make a suitable ladder for the newly invented kit, DNA profile data of 10,000 individual were used. Different alleles were synthesized by their DNA that was extracted from DBC cards. Then the alleles were mixed together to make a ladder with most efficiency.
DNA profiles of 200 individuals were compared with the profile of ABI kit.  Both of them had the same result.




Since some more famous kits (e.g. from Thermo Fisher, US) have been used in Legal Medicine Org (LMO) and Police Dep’t, therefore we used same markers in this kit in addition to SE33 to improve its power of discrimination. Kit performance was as expected and was acceptable enough to compete with imported ones.

Extraction blood samples from Kawsar DBC®:
With the use of Kawsar Micro-Punch® (another product from Kawsar Biotech Co.) one can extract desirable discs for blood analysis this tool can extract discs that have 1.0 or 2.0 mm diameter.i

Rapid purification of DNA:


DNA from discs is easily extracted using Kawsar DNA Extraction Buffer®which is available from Kawsar Biotech Co. Therefore there is no for purchasing expensive kits or devices. All the extraction process is done in a PCR micro tube and purified DNA is ready for PCR or other molecular analysis .i
